Trinity's SUMMER OF HEALTH INITIATIVE (Click Here for further resources)

What is it?
An invitation to use these summer months as means of deeper growth and health.
How?
All members (and friends) are warmly welcome to make earnest commitments to four things:
1)  To pray at least three different times each day (including prayers for one's own spiritual growth as well as Trinity's growth and depth in Christ)
2)  To read at least three verses of scripture each day (suggestions will be made, but there is plenty of freedom to walk through the Psalms or specific books in the Bible)
3)  To exercise at least three times each week (biking, running, walking with others, swimming, playing tennis....)
4)  To make at least 3 newer relational connections-- with persons both already part of the Trinity family and those not necessarily connected to the church family (play dates with children, gardening groups, dinners after worship, coffee, movie nights...).
Why?
It is especially important to seek after health in the midst of the broken economy and frazzled pace of life.  It is also especially important to seek after the rhythms of faith that bring deeper peace and growth in Christ (prayer, community, God's Word, encouragement, hope).
During the summer, the office will provide encouragement, guidance, and accountability to all engaging this means of health and growth.

Grace and Peace in the name of our Risen Savior,

These Sundays after Easter represent further opportunities to celebrate Christ's resurrection from the dead and its meaning upon our life and faith.  I invite you to join us in our worshipping community for this celebration or in our other communities (Food Pantry, Community Kitchen, Lord's Bounty...) where we join the Holy Spirit in living this celebration within this beautiful westside of Grand Rapids.

Please let me know if you have questions about our ministires and mission or would like to catch coffee one of these days to talk about why the people gathered together, called Trinity Church, are still so excited about finding the tomb empty.

Here is my Easter Sermon (targum) from April 12.  It is based off the Colossians 3:1-4 text.

With Joy,

Karsten Voskuil, pastor@trinityreformedchurch.org
